2020 AGM & Walkathon Roundup

Annual General Meeting

It was amazing to connect with some of our supporters and members up at camp. It allowed us to show all of the great work God has allowed us to accomplish this season. We were also treated to an amazing Covid-safe BBQ of sausages and salad thanks to the hard work of Marsha, Shelly, and Jerry.

First a bit of bad news. Unfortunate for us, Andy Parisien has decided to step down from the board this year due to other commitments. We want to thank Andy for all of his hard work and passion that he poured into camp during his tenure on the board.

The rest of the board was voted back in, with a new addition in Kaithlyne Marcos. We welcome Kaithlyne's energy and exuberance as she fills her new role in the coming year. You can learn more about this year's board by going to our board page.

Walkathon Fundraiser Success

God blessed us with wonderful weather the day of the walkathon. It was warm, and for those who were able to make it in person, an amazing time of fellowship and fun.

Although in-person attendance was far lower than last year due to Covid, many of those who couldn't attend held their own virtual walks. It was wonderful to know there were pockets of supporters all over the province walking along with those of us at camp.

Last year was the first year we held the walk-a-thon, and we were able to raise $6,000 which was totally unexpected, and a true blessing! With this year the way it has gone, we didn't expect to raise anywhere near that amount, but we gave room for God to do His work nonetheless. And was He ever faithful! In Walk-a-thon pledges alone we received $7,700! Add to this one very generous donation of $9,000 by someone who was moved to help complete construction of the new playcenter, and we raised a total of $16,700 through the event!

If anyone would have suggested even just 3 months ago that we would see a large playcenter for the children at camp, and experience this much success with the fundraiser, I'm sure we all would have had a very difficult time believing it. But God is so good, and faithful. Praise Him for encouraging us so much through such a difficult season. I am truly convinced these small miracles are the direct result of God's good mercy, and all of your prayers for the camp these last months.

So please, continue to keep us in prayer as we work to improve the property, and prepare for what we hope will be a wonderful 2021 camp season for all of our youth.
