Reflection, Repair, and the Annual Meeting

With this summer being reserved as a season of reflection and repair, we have invested most of our time at camp in cleaning, clearing, and enhancing what God has already given us. This past weekend the board visited the property to continue our series of planning meetings for the rest of this and next year.

Afterward we walked about the property visiting sites where we plan enhancements before next summer, and a few areas already under work by a number of volunteers who are blessing us with their time and resources. This included multiple play areas for the little ones, a swimming area at the pond, and the ground leading from the chapel to the pond.

At each spot we shared ideas and hopes, and stopped to pray for God’s wisdom, guidance, and most importantly for Him to make a way since budgets have been tight and we have lost so much revenue due to Covid. We prayed that no matter what the future holds financially, that ultimately He be glorified through everything that is Camp OCA. Both today, and tomorrow, and for future generations to come.

I’ve attached several photos of the improvements to the property being made this month, including a major effort to cleanup the outdoor gathering space in front of the Chapel. In the coming weeks we will have new aluminum seating, new and refurbished platforms for preaching and worship, and a wonderful cleared view of the beautiful pond that God has helped us frame as a centerpiece of the property.

There is something so majestic as you look across the mirrored surface towards the main Hall. You see the heavens perfectly framed with vibrant colors and plant life that brings Him into a clearer view in some immeasurable way. It is truly breathtaking, and you must come experience it for yourself.

This is why for 2020, we will hold our Annual General Meeting up at the camp on September the 12th at 4pm. This will provide a way for those of you who can, to come and see what has been done, learn what we plan to do, and share in the hope we have for this ministry. May God bless you always.
